Pink Melon Love

I finally got around to trying some more of the Bilou shower foam range. They currently stock 5 different shower foam scents at Superdrug and I've tried 4 of them (I wasn't too fussed to try the Fizzy Berry one, so I skipped it). I kept setting stock alerts and managed to buy the other 3 that I was desperate to try, in the 3 for 2 offer - bonus!

So the 3 scents I tried out this time were Cotton Candy, Pink Melon and Coco Cocktail. When I first spotted this range, I was most excited about trying out the Tasty Doughnut and Cotton Candy scents, although I do love all of the fun packaging for the full range.

If you've read my blog so far, you'll know that I previously reviewed the Tasty Doughnut scent (you can find it here) and I loved it, so I had high expectations for the rest. Here's my thoughts:

Cotton Candy - I decided to try this one out first as I was most looking forward to it, but unfortunately it was a bit of a let-down for me if I'm being honest. The shower foams all lather and provide great coverage but the problem with this for me was that I could barely smell anything, it was just so subtle. I wouldn't even be able to describe the scent because I couldn't really smell anything at all, the slight hint that I did get didn't remind me of Cotton Candy at all though.

Pink Melon - This one definitely surprised me the most (as you may have realised from the post title). After being initially disappointed with the Cotton Candy shower foam, I expected that my next favourite would be Coco Cocktail, but I was way wrong. This one was really aromatic, it smelled bright, fresh and fruity - and just like watermelon! The smell didn't linger on my skin after showering, like the Tasty Doughnut scent but I still loved it!

Coco Cocktail - I expected a Coconut/Tropical scent with this shower foam because of the name. Unfortunately this one also left me feeling disappointed. The smell was powerful this time, but it didn't smell at all like I had hoped and for some reason it actually reminded me of the Baileys Cream Liquor drink and was a little sickening for my taste.

Maybe my expectations are too high, and I know that the smell isn't everything when it comes to shower products but for me, it is a big part of the overall product. One of my favourite things in the world is a hot shower, I love washing the day off of me and using shower gels/foams with strong fruity scents that are uplifting and help to wake me up at the start of my day or simply after a long one.

My favourites of the range are definitely Tasty Doughnut and Pink Melon and these will 100% be repeat purchases in the future. I have recently spotted also that Bilou have a website and Instagram page (links below) which include even more cute products and scents so hopefully they'll have them available in the UK soon so that I can try out even more!
